The City of Quinte West is committed to keeping residents informed about the Alto High-Speed Rail project by sharing updates provided by project representatives.

The Government of Canada has announced the first segment of the network (Ottawa to Montreal) and launched a public engagement process.

Public consultations will run from January through March 2026 and will include open houses, roundtables, and virtual sessions.

Two open houses are being held within Hastings County:

March 5 @ 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. @ Madoc Township Recreation Centre, 15651 Hwy 62, Madoc

March 25, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. & 5-9 p.m., Stirling and District Lions Club, 435 W Front St, Stirling

Alto’s goal is to involve Canadians throughout the development of the project and to offer multiple opportunities for the public to share feedback on project plans and community priorities. Residents are encouraged to attend and learn more directly from project representatives.
