North Trent Street in Frankford will undergo significant construction from June 2026 until late Fall 2026.
Identified in the Water and Wastewater Master Plan, this project includes the upsizing of the existing wastewater pipe at the intersection of North Trent Street and Huffman Road to allow for future development growth in the northwest area of Frankford.

This project includes:
Road reconstruction, including new asphalt and curb
Installation of a second sanitary forcemain
Upsizing the underground sanitary gravity sewer

Updated Sept. 25, 2026 - Starting Sept. 28, 2026, the construction area on North Trent Street in Frankford will expand north to include the full intersection of Huffman Road and North Trent Street for the next stage of work. The area of work continues south to Adelaide Street, where construction began earlier this summer to install a second sanitary force main and an updated gravity sewer.
Updated detour routes connecting North Trent Street to Huffman Road via Rosewood subdivision will be posted while work continues in the intersection. Please follow posted detour signs.
Access will be maintained at the construction area for emergency vehicles and local traffic only.
Work is progressing as scheduled. Curb, sidewalk and asphalt are being installed in parts of the construction zone. The full project is expected to be completed in late fall 2026.

North Trent Street and Huffman Road pipe upsizing has finished this stage
Affected residents are notified of upcoming construction and detour routes.
July 13, 2026 - Construction begins
North Trent Street and Huffman Road pipe upsizing has finished this stage
Contractor crews and equipment are mobilized on North Trent Street and begin work July 13.
North Trent Street will be closed between Concession Road and Adelaide Street. Traffic will be detoured to King Drive during this phase of construction.
August 11 to late September - New detour routes in effect
North Trent Street and Huffman Road pipe upsizing has finished this stage
Construction is progressing well on North Trent Street, Frankford.
NEW: Detour routes have been updated starting Aug. 11 ending in October 2026.
North Trent Street will be closed between Huffman Road and Adelaide Street. Traffic will be detoured to Pitchers Road via Huffman Road and County Road 5 (Mill Street) during this phase of construction.
September 28 into October 2026
North Trent Street and Huffman Road pipe upsizing is currently at this stage
Starting Monday, Sept. 28, traffic will be routed through Rosewood subdivision to access Huffman Road.
Roadside signage will be in place to mark the detour route.
The area of construction will now include the intersection of Huffman Avenue and North Trent Street.
Late Fall 2026

Work is scheduled to be completed late into the Fall of 2026.
