National soccer championships in Quinte West

The City of Quinte West is proud to host the 2024 Canada Soccer Toyota National Championships U-15 Cup from October 9 to 14, 2024, as part of Canada's most prominent amateur team sports competition. The Toyota National Championships in Quinte West will welcome national under-15 youth male and female teams from Canada's provincial and territorial soccer associations for six days of high-energy soccer competition, celebration and activities.

During the tournament, Centennial Park in Quinte West will be ‘Soccer Central’ featuring free, family-friendly soccer skills and drills, activities, merchandise, and local food vendors. Soccer Central will be hub for all things soccer in Quinte West over Thanksgiving weekend 2024!

Quinte West youth ages 16 and under are invited to share their artistic ability and celebrate soccer by designing the official Soccer Central logo.

What is a logo?

A logo is a unique picture or symbol representing an event, company or brand. Logos are designed to be unique and stand out, and are displayed on products, signs, and promotional materials.

A good logo is easily identifiable, memorable, and creates a connection between the event and the community.

Your Soccer Central logo

Your Soccer Central logo can be created using markers, crayons, pastels, paint, or graphic design software. The logo should be creative, easy to read and understand, and represent soccer in Quinte West.

The winning logo will be shared:

  • As a life-size display painted on the grass at Soccer Central in Centennial Park (beside the Quinte West Pop-up cabins) during the tournament, October 9 to 14, 2024.

  • On Soccer Central promotional materials, including local newspaper ads, posters and digital signs, promoting the family fun zone.

All logos must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m., Monday, May 20, 2024.


How to participate:

  1. Read and follow the contest rules, eligibility, and logo requirements outlined below.

  2. Design your Soccer Central logo - logos can be created using markers, crayons, pastels, paint, or graphic design software.

  3. Complete a logo submission form at the bottom of this page.

  4. Submit your logo file by email to events@quintewest.ca by 11:59 p.m., May 20, 2024. Logos designed in hard copy (on paper) must be scanned or photographed and submitted electronically.

  5. Watch for your logo design to be posted to this website within three business days of submission.

  6. Share the link to this page with your friends and family and encourage them to vote for your design by 11:59 p.m., Sunday, May 26, 2024.

  7. The top 10 logos with the most public votes will be shortlisted for juried review and selection of the official logo.

  8. The official Soccer Central logo be publicly announced by the City in June.


Contest rules and eligibility:

  • This contest is open to kids and youth 16 and under, including youth groups, clubs, sports teams, and classrooms.

  • There is no limit on the number of logo submissions per person, youth group, club, sports team, or classroom.

  • A parent or guardian must authorize logo submissions made by participants under 16.

  • Logo submissions by participants over 16 must be submitted on behalf of a child, youth or youth organization.

  • Logo contest participants must be residents of Quinte West.


Logo requirements:

  • All logo submission files must meet all requirements outlined below.

  • Logos may be designed in colour or black and white.

  • Logos can be created using markers, crayons, pastels, paint, or graphic design software.

  • All logos must be submitted electronically.

  • Logos designed in hard copy (on paper) must be scanned or photographed and submitted as a JPG, PNG, or PDF file.

  • Logos designed in hard copy and scanned for submission will be revised and converted to a digital graphics file. The revision of hard copy designs may result in design edits or changes made at the sole discretion of the City.

  • The City of Quinte West logo, Toyota National Championships logo, Canada Soccer logo, any other team logo, or copyright/trademark protected image CANNOT be used in any Soccer Central logos.

  • A completed logo submission form must accompany all logo submission(s). Logos that are not accompanied by a completed logo submission form or that do not meet these requirements will be disqualified.

  • Logo submissions must be the youth's original creation, not plagiarized, not currently held in copyright by any individual or organization, and must be previously unpublished work.

  • All logos must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m., Monday, May 20, 2024.


Logo selection:

  • The top 10 logos with the most public votes will be shortlisted for juried review and selection of the official logo.

  • City staff will select the official Soccer Central logo winner and two runners-up.

  • The contest winner and two runners-up will receive one prize each.

  • The contest winner and two runners-up will be contacted by email and will be required to sign an acknowledgement of receipt and acceptance of these rules.


Prizes:

  • 1st Place: $200 gift card to a Quinte West merchant of your choice, and the winning logo will become the Official Soccer Central logo.

  • 2nd Place: $100 select gift card to a Quinte West merchant of your choice.

  • 3rd Place: $50 select gift card to a Quinte West merchant of your choice.


Acknowledgments:

  • The contestant/their guardian acknowledges that any logo submitted may be revised or converted to meet the project's needs, and design edits or changes may be made to any logo at the sole discretion of the City.

  • The contestant/their guardian gives permission to the City of Quinte West and its affiliates to the absolute and irrevocable rights and ownership of the logo and gives permission to the City to use, reproduce and release to others the logo for any City purposes, whether in photographic, digital, electronic or other form(s), without limitations and without payment or other compensation.

  • The contestant/their guardian agrees that the logo will remain the property of the City of Quinte West and hereby relinquishes any rights to examine or approve the completed product or products or the advertising copy or printed material that may be used in conjunction with the logo.

  • By entering the contest, each contestant/their guardian acknowledges having read these rules and regulations and agrees to be bound by them and all decisions made by the City of Quinte West, which shall be final.
