Each year, the City of Quinte West undertakes an annual budget process to create budgets that support city operations and deliver the programs, services and facilities we enjoy in our community.

The Budget is more than dollars and cents. It is a financial plan that outlines the estimated revenue and expenses needed to fund the day-to-day costs of delivering services such as fire protection, park maintenance, economic development services and community events, as well as long-term investments such as renewing existing roadways, renovating City buildings and arenas, and buying equipment used to provide services.

Through the annual budget process, choices are made to ensure that the City services provided to residents align with the priorities in the City of Quinte West's Strategic Plan. Quinte West City Council will review and approve the 2026 Budget and direction for City service delivery and planning.

Directory of Local Services/Programs for Seniors

by Kelly Boutilier, 25 days ago
Hi! With so many Baby Boomers retiring or currently retired, it would be great if there was a dedicated webpage on the City's website that provides a directory of local service providers or programs available to Seniors that can assist them to stay living in their homes longer. This could be clubs, organizations that are geared to seniors or programs that provide funding for programs for snow removal, yard maintenance, grants/funds available to assist seniors. The City could allow service providers to sign up to the website based on various categories of services. I know many seniors asking for help... Continue reading

As the climate changes, weather patterns become less predictable and summers become hotter. It is important that we keep temperatures regulated in the City to ensure that citizens and visitors feel the most comfortable. This is especially true in any public location, but is of primary concern in outdoors spaces such as parks where temperature regulation can be more difficult to manage. The addition of shade structures at the Pop-ups and other open spaces in parks, water re-fill stations (and handwashing stations), access to public washrooms (canteen in Centennial Park), and cooling stations (misting stations) would likely help reduce the...
