Still going strong
by Restrictedtohome, about 6 years agoMy mom turns 69 on march 30th. She has been a psw since 1999 doing respite care for clients. She gets up at 530am every morning to start her day. She makes sure that I have my tim hortons waiting for me when I get up so I dont have to take my 2 grandchildren out as myself and grandson have an autoimmune disorder. She heads off to her first client. While she is out and about she grabs groceries for me when needed. She helps me as much as she can while still trying to isolate when she can... Continue reading

She goes the extra mile for her clients. Some just cant wait to seè her. SUSAN DELINE is definitely a hero in my eyes.
There are so many I could list that are heroes but psws are definitely not getting recognition they deserve for being a frontline worker

by Thompson101, about 6 years agoFirst I want to say I would love to nominate at least 3 different women from Applefest community living centre, but I will keep it to one. Dana Schoenhals one of Applefest finest managers. This individual goes above and beyond for not only the residents but every co worker on her team. You will catch her at Applefest anytime of the day or night either helping residents emotionally, physically or mentally. She wants the best for her residents ensuring daily sanitation, FaceTime calls to talk to their loved ones. Making sure all residents have everything they need personally. 60 residents... Making sure all residents have everything they need personally. 60 residents plus staff it’s a lot to handle and I know she is very overwhelmed with it all but she pulls it off so well and attends to everybody’s needs. She’s given staff their holidays last minute so they could stay home with their own families even when they can’t afford to lose the help. She always figures it out and if you need to be off for any pre cautions during this time she makes sure of it. She goes above and beyond and never gets extra for it but she keeps doing it for the people in our community who need someone, And lastly she does it all with a smile.

by Karen, about 6 years agoI wanted to acknowledge, To the women and men, who are working tirelessly, and long hours to get you the money you desperately need. Please be patient as they are doing their best with all this overwhelming paperwork. I salute you all. And thank you so very much.

by Neldav, about 6 years agoMy neighbours Andy McCabe is our hero. He helps to bring our recycling bins from the curb. He offers help to pick up groceries for us and checks in all the time to see that we are okay.
My other neighbours Ian Saylor and Lauren help to keep our driveway clear of snow. We are seniors who are at risk and self isolating .

by Kait90, about 6 years agoMy sister Tamara Nevills is a nurse in the military at CFB Trenton she has seen all of the individual/patients/personnel/families, she flew them back, she puts her life on the line every morning she wakes up and goes to work. She is a hard working individual and she deserves some praise. She sees patients who have covid 19, with all the symptoms and struggling for their life.
