Highway 2 urbanization public information centre - June 23

When: Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 4-6 p.m.
Where: Trent Port Marina, 15 Creswell Dr., Trenton

Major construction is planned in 2027 for Highway 2 from County Road 40 to 2nd Dug Hill Road. This project will include:

  • Road reconstruction

  • Three new two-lane roundabouts at the intersections of County Road 40, Little Farm Boulevard and 2nd Dug Hill Road

  • New concrete dividing median

  • Active transportation lanes for walking and cycling

  • A two-metre sod boulevard

  • New pedestrian crossovers

  • New streetlights

  • New drainage system

  • New municipal storm sewer

This project will support significant growth and development in the east end of the Murray ward and the west end of Trenton.

  • Winter 2026 to spring 2027 - Detailed design and tendering phase

  • 2027 - Construction

Construction timelines and traffic impacts will be updated closer to the start of the road work.

Funding

In January 2025, the City of Quinte West received over $11 million in funding from the province’s Housing-Enabling Core Servicing (HECS) stream to urbanize sections of Highway 2 and 2nd Dug Hill Road.
